The idea of starting the FCPAA was formed by a small group of police professionals that attended the National Citizen’s Police Academy Association Conference in 2004. Sitting in the lobby of a hotel in Austin, Texas, this group recognized that there was a lack of training opportunities in Florida for Law Enforcement CPA coordinators, volunteers and volunteer coordinators. It became the mission of this association to provide those training opportunities.
